A Split In Online Casino Blackjack

Sometimes during the play of Blackjack at an online casino, the dealer will deal a player two cards that are exactly the same such as two tens. In such a case, the player would have the option of doing something called a split. With a split, the two tens would be separated into two different hands and the dealer would deal an extra card to each hand. The player must add an additional bet that is identical to the first one in order to do a split though. Splits are good because they allow the player the opportunity to win twice. Of course there is also the off chance that he or she could lose twice as well, but that may not happen.

A split is only available during the first hand. A decision to split must be made when the dealer first deals out the cards to that person.
